Link – TED: Ellen Gustafson On Obesity, Hunger, and the World (2/28)

I found this interesting video recently and thought I would share it as my weekly link.

In her talk, Ellen Gustafson makes some interesting points. She clarifies the connection between obesity and hunger; two usually unrelated subjects. Gustafson also brings up the many connections between climate change and the many geopolitical problems that we humans face and how they are directly, if subtley linked to what we eat

I really enjoyed this, Popov, thanks. She’s funny. I have one of those bags, and they are really fantastic. I like that she addressed the hopeless bureaucracy of the UN, too.

This is a great talk. Thanks very much for the link, William. We often speak of obesity as problem of affluent nations, but that’s not entirely the case, is it? Poor nutrition is poor nutrition, and while it’s not that hard to find enough calories for everyone in the world, it’s considerably more challenging to get everyone a balanced diet. Perhaps one of you will take the lead on the reforms Ms. Gustafson is proposing for the next 30 years.
