NY Times – A Food Manifesto for the Future

I recently found this article and saved it because I thought it made some good points. It does a really good job of outlining people’s attitudes towards food and the many problems (both with the government, the companies that produce the food, and ourselves) that can easily be solved, but are not, simply because of idiotic conflicts or inefficient bureaucracies. A good read.

I have always been mildly suspicious of manifestos as documents. Just saying ‘this is how we are gonna do things now’ seems like kind of an empty gesture without a concrete plan of action to back it up. Still, there are some good points in this document. At the very least, it serves as a useful list of the issues we should be thinking about.
